Drinking water management
Water management or water resources management is the name given to the activity of planning, developing, distributing and managing the use of water resources.
Water has several characteristics:
- It is essential to life.
- It is ubiquitous, as it makes up 65% of the human body, and covers 70% of the Earth’s surface with 2.5% of potable.
- It is governed by the laws of conservation and the water cycle.
In France, the Schémas Directeurs d’Aménagement et de Gestion des Eaux (SDAGE) plan the management of water resources and wetlands at the scale of each large river basin.

It sets the general objectives to be achieved for six years in terms of quality, quantity, preservation of aquatic ecosystems and
